Oxymoron, not a Moron, but an Oxymoron 😉 Today, I’m going to be talking about myself – which you would think would be pretty easy – but I actually don’t like talking about myself.  Which brings me to my point, if I could describe myself in one word it would be oxymoron. Why? Because I’m a walking contradiction that’s why.

For those of you who don’t know, there is this meme circulating around on the inter-web called “MEET THE ARTIST.”  And it got me thinking – I’ve been on 3 youtube for 3 years and never really told you much background info on myself.  So, GETTING BACK TO MY POINT…Why oxymoron?

Well, I’m actually a very private person.  PLUS I’m super introvert. So how the flip did I end up on YOUTUBE?  Trust me, I ask myself that question all the time.  Growing up I rarely spoke (except of course to my close friends).  I was known as the shy or quiet one – Yeah, people would latterly refer to me as the Quiet one – that’s how memorable I was… the quiet one.

So obviously ALOT has changed since then 🙂 Similar to Ariel – I’ve found my voice…  However… I didn’t sell my voice away to a sea witch in the first place.   I just didn’t really feel like talking.  I was one of those creepy kids with large round eyes that just loved to observe- come to think of it that’s probably why I like Tim Burton stuff so much.  Okay, so you may find yourself a bit annoyed at how much I’ve been rambling on and on for far to long just not seeming to get to the point 😉  Well,  that’s who I am…the shy quiet girl who never shuts up…

Some other examples of how I’m an oxymoron are as follows…

First, I HATE writing/ grammar / spelling.  Basically anything with words –  I hate with a passion.  Yet – I love writing scripts for these videos….and yes, I do write scripts and yes I do  ramble on paper too.  leave me alone… jk

Another way is I hate mornings – hate them – but my favorite time to film is at first light.  Another way I’m an oxymoron is I hate perfectionism – yet my internal brain must have every inch of my office OCD structured with everything in it’s place.  The rest of my house… I for some reason don’t have to have as structured (actually it’s a complete mess right now … but for some reason my work environment must be perfect.

And there you have it, a pondering list of how many times I’m so exactly opposite. 🙂

Now chances are you would like to learn a bit more about me than just this random list of opposites.  So here’s some more info…

  • I was born in the southern US and even though I have grown up in the south – i’ve managed to hide my southern accent from ya’ll.
  • I was born an only child and was raised as a strange little homeschool girl in pigtails and overalls.
  • I was diagnosed with a learning difference at age 5 similar to dyslexia – this is why I have a passionate hate for grammar and spelling.
  • I grew up in a multi-cultural family.  I believe this is partially due to my love for other cultures and beliefs.
  • I also danced in a ballet troupe for 13 years.  I danced multiply parts and loved every second on stage.
  • Most of you already know this one, but I’m a completely self taught artist.  Something you may not know is that I won 6 art competitions for my age category growing up.
  • I also won multiple medals for swimming – in which my coach swore I could be an olympic medalist.  To which I replied – “no thanks i don’t want to get up that early in the morning.” 😉  Seriously, missed out on that one.
  • Before I was married to my husband – we met in college and believe me it was not love at first sight.  Rather, it was more of a mutual disgust.   If you want to hear more on that story make sure to comment below – it’s a roller coaster ride that ended in true love.  Now, He’s really my best friend.

And that’s about it for now!  I hope you enjoyed getting to know me a bit more 😀  As always ya’ll lots of love and see you next time from misfi-topia 😉
