Watercolor Monthly Challenge – February

January 28, 2020

Hello Misfitians! I thought for the month of February we might try something together! Many of you have commented – that you would like a weekly mini watercolor challenge that eventually built up to a large monthly watercolor challenge. So I listened to your feedback and put together this challenge – which I’ll be following along with you.

So as you can tell – the first 3 weeks are just simple challenges of exploring and playing with supplies – really learning the ins and outs of things. These are simple and meant to be fun. You can create illustrations with them or just swatch info charts – the choice is yours. The final BIG CHALLENGE – is putting everything together (MAGENTA, IRIDESCENT, & SPLATTER) into a watercolor painting that involves baking. It can be an illustration of a baker baking or some form of baked good – such as candy, cupcakes, cookies, etc. Let your imagination run wild and have fun! The point of this is to just play like a kid again. So have fun and I hope you join me in this challenge!

Love the idea! Unfortunately, I can’t do it this month, major work needs to be done in the house first. But I’m saving it for another month ’cause I definitely want to try it!

I am definitely a misfitian. I love your ideas. You are so professional. For this month I am helping my daughter so I will not be painting. When I get home I am definitely going to start painting. Thank you for everything you do.

Fabulous idea! I won’t be able to do it for now (had a surgery), but I will catch up as soon as I can! Thank you so much Carrie, this is just what I need to have something to start with when I recover and it will surely help my healing process!

It all sounds like fun and I can’t imagine baking but I’ve put my painting on hold as I fell down a rabbit hole discovering Heaven and Earth Designs in Cross Stitch and putting a 100 stitches in little half inch squares on 3 projects is taking up my time. I will try to follow along however in between but know I won’t be able to do the homework. May I just absorb what you are doing and thrill with it all that way please Carrie?
