About Me
Hi, my name is Carrie.
I was born in Florida, but I’ve spent most of my life in South Carolina, where I now live with my husband, son, and our two dogs (Teddie and Pepper). You will often see them in my vlogs.

My background began in education, with a master’s degree in early childhood and elementary education, but art has always been woven into my life in a meaningful way. For many years, I worked as a tutor for children with learning differences, combining educational support with creative art lessons. I’ve always believed art is more than just something beautiful—it helps us process emotions, make connections, and hold onto what we are learning in a deeper way.

My Life and Creative Journey
Over the years, I’ve worn many different hats: tutor, teacher, YouTube creator, watercolor artist, and now full-time mom.
These days, my heart is mostly wrapped up in being a mom to my silly, goofy son. Motherhood has changed so much about the way I see life and creativity. It has made me appreciate small moments more, and it has also taught me how to find little pockets of time to keep creating. In those quiet in-between moments, I love exploring watercolor, digital illustration, and new creative paths that continue to stretch and inspire me.

One of my biggest dreams is to someday write and illustrate my own children’s book. I’ve always loved storytelling and world-building. As a child, I was constantly making things—creating my own toys, writing short stories, and illustrating them into little handmade books. Some of my favorite toys were stuffed animals, especially Beanie Babies, and I still think that love shows up in my art today. Their soft, simple features and tiny dot eyes left such a mark on my imagination and continue to inspire the sweet, gentle characters I love creating.
I’ve also always had a deep love for books and animation. Lately, that has led me into exploring animation in Procreate, which has been such a fun and unexpected joy. There’s something really special about seeing my own illustrations begin to move and come to life in a new way.

My Style
A little bit of whimsy almost always sneaks into my work.
I’m deeply drawn to color and color theory, and I love using color in thoughtful ways to create feeling, story, and atmosphere. For years, I worked mostly in mixed media watercolor, and that traditional feel still has my heart. More recently, I’ve been exploring digital illustration and experimenting with ways to carry that soft, handmade, painterly feeling into my digital work as well.
My favorite themes often center around animals and nature—daydreaming creatures, gentle moments of kindness and empathy, small discoveries, and quiet little adventures. I love turning simple animals into meaningful characters with their own unique personalities and imagined backstories.

A Little More
This blog is a space where I share my art practice, creative process, and the lessons I’m learning along the way. It’s also a place where I can document this season of growth as I explore new artistic paths while learning how to balance creativity with full-time motherhood.
I’m so glad you’re here.
